Dropping a Fan with Red Envelop

One of the interesting Taiwanese wedding day tradition is that as the two newlyweds are leaving the bride’s home, the bride must drop a fan with a red envelop from the car. This symbolizes that bad traits from the bride's life as a single woman are being dispersed like wind by a fan; she is leaving her bad habits behind as she joins her new family.
